Enjoy the Naval Weapons Station Yorktown 97th Birthday Concert near Yorktown
August 3, 2015
Summer is the season when fresh air and sunshine are everywhere, and it would be a shame to miss out by staying indoors. That's why many cities and towns across the U.S. have started putting on free outdoor events between the months of June and August, and Yorktown is no exception! This August, there's something to do every week at the Riverwalk Landing in Historic Yorktown—and it's always free.
Coming up on August 5 is the Naval Weapons Station Yorktown 97th Birthday Concert. At 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the United States Fleet Forces' brass band, fittingly dubbed Uncharted Waters, will grace the stage at Riverwalk Landing. Pack up a picnic blanket or lawn chairs at Yorktown and set out for the fresh-air concert in advance of the 6:30 start time to snag one of the best spots on the landing.
