Did You Know That the Peninsula SPCA Has Its Own Petting Zoo? You Better Baaaah-lieve It, Yorktown!
July 28, 2015
Sharing your home at Yorktown with some pint-sized future veterinarians or zookeepers? Consider taking them to the Peninsula SPCA & Petting Zoo! Situated on the same grounds as the Peninsula SPCA in Newport News, the petting zoo is home to a menagerie of domestic and exotic animals, which range from goats, geese, and llamas to a panther, bald eagle, and bobcat. With a donation that benefits the SPCA, you and your brood can get up close and personal with the barnyard animals, then view the exotic animals from a safe distance. Don't forget your camera; this place is great for photo ops!
Entrace to the petting zoo costs $2 per person, with kids 2 and under admitted free. The petting zoo is open 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays. Parking is free!
