Expect Three Days of Maritime Entertainment During the Annual Norfolk Harborfest, Returning to Town Point Park Near Yorktown This Friday
June 4, 2015
If you plan to visit Norfolk's Town Point Park this Friday, June 5, around noon, keep your eyes directed toward the Elizabeth River. If you do, you're sure to spot an expansive and varied fleet of tall ships, military vessels, tug boats, and sail boats headed in your direction. The boats' entry into the Downtown Norfolk Harbor signals the start of Norfolk Harborfest, an annual event that's returning for its 39th year on Friday!
The largest and longest-running festival of its kind in the country, Norkfolk Harborfest promises three full days of maritime-themed events and entertainment. The event's schedule includes live music performances, beverage tastings and food vendors, kids' activities, boat tours, and much more. You can even get up close and personal with live mermaids! And at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night, a fireworks display will light up the night sky just over the Elizabeth River.
Perhaps best of all, Norfolk Harborfest is totally free to attend, so be sure to join some friends from Yorktown and head to Town Point Park this weekend!
