From Elsa to Darth Vader, Your Child’s Favorite Characters Will Be in Attendance at the Newport News Children’s Festival of Friends, Taking Place This Saturday Near Yorktown

Does your little one have Frozen fever? Or maybe he or she does backflips for Spider-Man, Cinderella, or Darth Vader. Either way, your child is sure to have a ball during the Newport News Children's Festival of Friends, returning for its 26th year this Sat., May 2, at Newport News Park!

During the festival, popular princess and hero characters (Elsa, Anna, Belle, Cinderella, Ariel, Buzz Lightyear … ) will stroll throughout the park, posing for photos with their pint-sized fans. Even book characters such as Paddington Bear, Spot, and Froggy will be in attendance! Meet-and-greets aren't all that's on the docket during the festival, however. Event-goers can also expect make-and-take craft stations, demonstrations and performances, educational exhibits, moon bounces, pony rides, storytelling, and much more.

Admission, activities, and rides at the Newport News Children's Festival of Friends are free of charge. Parking is $5 per car, while food is pay-as-you-go. Hope to see you there, Yorktown!
