LEGO Shipbuilding Contest at Hampton Roads Naval Museum: A Must-Do for Budding Builders Living at Yorktown!

February 5, 2015

Calling all amateur architects living at Yorktown! The Hampton Roads Naval Museum's annual LEGO Shipbuilding Contest returns this Saturday, Feb. 7, and this year, it promises twice the LEGO-building fun with two contests instead of one!

Your first option is to use your own LEGOs to build a model Naval ship at home, then bring it to the museum to enter in the contest before 2 p.m. Or if you prefer, build your ship on-site at the museum using LEGOs and design plans provided by HRNM. (If you choose the latter option, note that you'll have to leave your design at the museum!) The at-home and on-site creations will be judged in two separate contests.

The contest is open to kids ages 4 and up, and cool prizes will be awarded. You can also expect fun LEGO-related activities. Brick by Brick: Lego Shipbuilding at Hampton Roads Naval Museum is free to enter!
